Welcome to my photographic website. I've been making photographs for a lifetime but all the images here are digital, so represent the last 7 years of work. Digital photography is revolutionary in many ways, well documented and discussed elsewhere, but for me digital photography has always been associated with the internet. I bought my first digital camera, a Canon S100, about the size of a cigarette packet if you remember what they were, to record the birth of my second daughter, Emily, knowing that if I had digital images I could post them on my website (this website in fact) and family in Australia could see her much sooner than if I had used any other medium to disseminate the good news. I had those first images up within 24 hours of the birth and the rest, they say, is history! Since those early days I've owned quite a few cameras, a few lenses and accessories, I've posted hundreds of images on this website and on others. On those more widely viewed public forums I've also expressed my opinion more than once but generally tried to share experiences and help others with their decisions. I've made a few prints and shared some photos with family and friends, and I've taught digital photography courses for the university's continuing education program. I offer a sample of my photographs here. I've made thousands more, but really, there's no need to show you them all... Click on the thumbnails below to view some image galleries.
