A list of "other things" that a visitor may find interesting.

First, and foremost I define myself by my family: my wife, Maria, and my daughters, Kirsten and Emily.  My family comes first, second and third--all this other stuff comes after that.  Maria has a small business offering paralegal services, including do-it-yourself divorces.

My new "interest" is an old one--cars.  I've always liked their looks, the technology, but rarely enjoyed their performance.  It's way cheaper to look at, and draw, and photograph, and wonder about, cars like Porsches and Ferraris, than to own them, insure them, maintain them, and drive them.  Anyway, in 2005 I bought a MINI Cooper S.  Not expensive, but a lot of driving pleasure...

I've made photographs for over 25 years, including time in the student darkroom at UC Santa Barbara doing medium format black and white.  The last five years has seen me return to this passion through digital photography.  I've taught digital photography for UNM Continuing Education and strive to see the world with my own eye, ever evolving though it is.

For the last 25 years I have ridden bicycles.  All those years I spent riding road bikes and I rode mountain bikes for 16 years until recently.

I can play the didgeridoo and have done so for 8 years.  I own and cherish many wonderful examples of the instrument from Australia (my home land.)

My father worked with wood, and I love wood, and woodcrafts.  I renovated our previous house, and hand-built the entire kitchen installation: cabinets, an island and countertops.  Then I sold it.  I then designed and built a second kitchen in our new (4 years in) house.  I can only say that it gets easier and better the second time 'round.  But there'll be no third...
