Improve Your Digital Camera Photographs:
Control the power of digital photography and become a better photographer

UNM Continuing Education Open House, May 22, 2003

Six basic lessons for digital photographers:

1.  Photograph is a Verb
(You can’t make a photograph without a camera)

2.  Digital cameras work much the same as film cameras
(Many of the same things go wrong)

3. Digital image storage media is cheap
(You should be making more exposures with your digital camera)

4. Most people never use their digital cameras to their potential
(Your best source of information is the User’s Manual; the next, your experience)

5. Lookout for the tree growing out of Aunt Bee's head! OR, composition is important, so think about it.
(Look at and learn from other visual arts: painting, drawing, movies, photographs)

6. Share your photographs with anyone who will look
(Join an on-line community for answers, and inspiration)
