Assignment 1 Construct a dataset having between 3 and 5 variables and no less than 20 observations.
Please indicate the source of the data. Calculate summary statistics for each variable (include Mean, median, mode-when available-, range and standard
deviation). Present your data in rectangular matrix form, with source(s) and summary statistics in a prominent place on the page.
Due Mon Sept. 8
Assignment 2 Was given out in class, verbally, on Monday Oct. 14. You are required to identify and write out the expected value and variance of the Binomial random variable (generic.)
Ignore assignment 2, but do assignment 3, due wed Oct 29.
Assignment 3 Do textbook problems 10.1, 10.3, 10.4, 10.9. 10.10. This will give you some
exposure and practice with the normal random variable.
This last assignment is due Wednesday, 19th of November
Assignment 4 Do textbook problems 12.1 (correct the "errors" in how the textbook specifies the null
hypotheses!), 12.12, 12.16.
Due Wednesday 19th.
